I went looking for something like this....the first reviewer and I think very much alike! I think this savory dish will make a great dessert. I have paired it with the ice cream to get the juxtaposition of the spicy and the sweet.

The often used amarula will go nicely with the cream. It will cool down the flavor of the plantains and the pairing seem to have that simple sophistication often served up at a nice restaraunt.
