  • Great-Grandmother's Slaw with Vinegar Dressing

(Kind of weird, but it's a family addiction! We have this instead of a salad.)

  • Broccoli Salad #181

  • Mama's Cornbread Dressing

(I wonder if mine will ever be quite as perfect as hers was...?)

  • Grandmother's Spinach Casserole

  • Green Beans Supreme

  • Gulliver's Corn

(This has been added to our traditional menu in honor of my brand-new DIL. Corn is her fave, and Longhorn Mama's recipe — minus a little salt, lol — is superb!)

  • Mashed Bourbon Sweet Potatoes

(I don't think my mother ever told a lie in her life. But I teased her for 40 years about the time our holier-than-thou, tee-totallin' cousins came for Thanksgiving dinner and, without thinking, she put bourbon in the sweet potatoes as usual. They kept asking for seconds — and thirds — and demanding to know what her 'secret ingredient ' was. Oh, boy, was she squirming...rofl)

  • Mashed Potatoes

(It may sound strange, but this dish never appeared on my mother's or my grandmother's holiday tables. They both made it to perfection ... but they served it twice a week, so it wasn't considered 'special' enough for Thanksgiving. Now that my children are grown and often bring friends home, I've started including this because so many people consider it a quintessential part of The Feast.)

  • Sour Cream Yeast Rolls

(A fabulous Southern Living recipe. I assumed somebody would have posted, but I can't find it....)

  • Grandmother's Boiled Custard

    (1) | By highcotton
  • Pecan Pie

(We've decided Jodi's recipe is even better than my great aunt's — and that's braggin' on her!)

  • Ricotta Cheesecake

(Mean Chef's cheesecake is beyond fabulous! For a topping, I usually macerate strawberries in sugar and Grand Marnier. then cook a little while to thicken.)

  • Mincemeat Pie

(I know it's downright un-American, but nobody in our family can stand the taste of pumpkin!)

I love your menu! So many good things here. I have tried your Broccoli Salad #181 and it is a definite winner. The cranberries make it perfect for a holiday meal. I hope your Thanksgiving is as wonderful as your menu.

This was a half way menu. If you are going to suggest recipes you should post them so other people may use them. Thanks!
