I am a college student studying History at a University here in Portland. I live with my fiance and our adorable Rottweiler, Minnie.
My favorite cookbook is my moms ragged old copy of The Joy of Cooking.
I used to sneak off with that cookbook so I could read about everything from setting a fancy table, making cakes, and skinning strange animals (like Possum) for dinner! I loved the funny old drawings demonstrating these odd activities. The squirrel one made me sad, though.
I have the new copy- which is similar but not as cool.
While I adore baking, cooking is difficult for me. I have the worse time getting several dishes on the table at once while still hot.
I'm known for my brownies most of all, and for my fantastic burritos which I swear I will someday write down the recipe for.
I love desserts more than anything... I mean I really, really, love sugar. I have a tendency to plan meals around desserts.
Besides, flour and sugar are much more affordable than meat.
