about me

"Leave me alone I'm a twentysomething," thus sings Jamie Cullum. I guess that song kind of describes how I'm feeling about life right now. Currently taking a break off college in order to lay the foundations and build the family business. I'm a low profile beauty & wellness consultant associated with a world-class supplier. I enjoy the boisterous laughter of a crowd of friends or a heart-to-heart with people I love, great books, massages at the spa, gourmet coffee (although I mostly stick to Americano these days), jazz radio, rock concerts, wrestling in the swimming pool with my buddies, camping trips/retreats away from the big city, and impressing people with the secret cooking talent that i have. I also enjoy casual salsa or otherwise dancing with a partner (only good males, please).

Favorite Foods:

Indonesian food rules! As a cook, however, I don't really assume a nationality, I just create and improvise with what I know tastes good. I grew up around Asian, American, and Italian food, and had been baking desserts since I was in preschool. I taught myself how to cook as a boarding high school student in Australia, when my dormmates would drag me to all sorts of Asian restaurants on weekends... so when it comes to meals I guess that's where my main influence comes from. Then I lived in Europe for three years; my first year there I dated a gourmet chef trapped in a student's body...so I guess if there's anything good my ex left me with, it's the art of preparing fine Asian and European cooking.

I've been told that I make superb laksa, curry, mie goreng, and stir-fries. I'm also a good baker, although I try not to do it too often because of the calories. As for restaurants, slow food is definitely for me. In Jakarta you'll catch me at Ganesh ek Sanskriti (North Indian), Penang Bistro (Malaysian), Chili's (American grill), or at various Indonesian food outlets...especially Manadonese, Padang, Javanese, and Sundanese.
