New to recipezaar but I am in love! Drop to your knees, head over heels in love. lol So many wonderful ideas all in one place. The simplicity of finding something delicious to eat so quickly makes me very very happy!
I want to explain my method of rating. I can really enjoy something and give it 4 stars. If I can imagine myself (hypothetically of course) stuffing my face with this endlessly then I will give 5 stars! Thank heavens I don't imagine that very often or I would be in so much trouble. lol 5 stars for me means I took a bite and just about fell out of my chair with ecstasy. 4 stars means, "Holy Cow, this is good! Guys get in here and taste this!" (5 stars I wouldn't want to tell anyone I made it so I could have it all to myself ~.0)
My only negative comment regarding zaar has to do with people who prepare a recipe knowing that it isn't what they normally like, end up not liking it for that very reason, and then give it a low rating. I have really appreciated seeing people who perhaps didn't follow the recipe, or who were just experimenting with something new that perhaps they didn't usually like, give comments without actually rating it. This can help others who might go out on a limb and make some crazy cream of cucumber, tofu, curried lamb soup with rye croutons that everyone raves about even though they don't like cucumber, tofu, curry, lamb or rye. And definitely not together. lol I love trying new things because you just never know. This recipe might just be your new favorite thing! But we all know our tastes. So if you like a spicy dish and you make a recipe that has little spices in it and rate it low for lack of flavor, I hardly think it is fair. Do you?
I am a professed cheese addict. I'll admit it. I think almost anything tastes better with cheese. My first love was Colby Longhorn. Mom hated cheddar and "American? We don't eat that!" But I love all cheeses that I have come across. I even bought a Vegan make your own cheese cookbook out of curiosity!
I live in Arizona so needless to say I love Mexican food and I'm very picky about it! I am still searching for a really delicious red sauce recipe. If you are ever in the area and want what we call a cheese crisp go to Nando's. I don't know how much butter goes into that thing (probably best if we don't know), but it is hands down the best open-faced crisp "quesadilla" you will ever taste!
My favorite Italian restaurant was Tucchetti's but it closed! I mourn it's loss. Fun atmosphere and delicious food. I still remember scarfing down half a thin crust pizza, fried zucchini and almost a whole plate of baked spaghetti while I was pregnant with my son. I had never eaten that much in my life! (I had overslept that day and barely got ready in time to make it to the matinee of Les Miz so I didn't get to eat
by the time it was over I was famished!)
I love people who are passionate about what they enjoy but respectful if others don't share the same interest. Most importantly I love people who are genuine. No pretense here. I always try to leave people I meet with a smile on their face! I love to laugh and have a terribly quirky sense of humor. Somehow I can find the humor in almost anything.
Again, I love this web site! (5 stars for the love!)
The web site below is not my site, but I love this song. It really illustrates how I feel about life, even (most) of the bad things.
