about me

I grew up around great cooks as a youngster. Each left me with a love of entertaining, and offering foods in our family gatherings. I am a Registered Nurse. My hobbies include collecting antique glassware and angels, reading, cooking, movies, crafts, quilting and gardening. I love spending time with my children and their activites.
I have lived in SW Missouri my entire life. I would love to take off and travel and see the US and other countries.
I have three children, two sons and a daughter. Ranging in ages from 20 to 13 years old. We are active in Scouting. My oldest son is an Eagle Scout and my youngest son hopes to outdo big brother with more merit badges and achieve his rank of Eagle earlier. Being this active has pulled me in to be as active as them in Scouts! All of my children are active in sports and music... I feel like a full time taxi cab driver! I wouldn't want it any other way.
My favorite chef is Gordon Ramsey. He's a hoot!

Favorite Foods:

The Christmas tradition of cooking a food from a different country continued this year. We had food from various countries... Thailand, Israel etc. This year the country the kids have picked for 2009 is Russia! Our dinner table grew this year to include some friends and family. It's a nice way to learn about other cultures and foods from various countries. I've talked with some great cooks on Zaar and they've sent me copies of their personal recipes they haven't posted. Thanks for sharing and you are all wonderful!
I love to collect old recipes and recipe books. I absolutely love those recipes that are handed down from generation to generation.
