My husband and I both love to cook. He worked in a pizza parlor when he was in high school, and we both enjoy making pizza. I lived overseas for eight years and collected lots of recipes and cookbooks from different locales, including South America, the Pacific Rim, and the Middle East.
My favorite dish from my travels overseas is Ajiaco Bogotáno. The dish has a wonderful comfort-food quality that just can't be matched for me. If I could just find the little papas criollas and quascas in the US, then I'd be set to make a traditional pot of that wonderful soup! So far I've had to make do with substitute ingredients. If anyone out there knows where I can get my hands on some papas criollas and some guascas, I'd love to hear it!
