I'm 35 years old. I live on a farm in western Kansas near Hays. I'm a stay at home mother of 2 little girls and am expecting a new baby this Winter. Previously, I have worked as a Student Support Specialist at Fort Hays State University. My husband and I grow wheat and milo and have a custom harvesting business. The girls, accounting, chickens, etc.... occupy most of my time. It's been a long time since I've submitted recipes....I'm glad to be back!!!
You name it I cook it!! Mainly I make the standard Mom/Grandma fare. I come from a long line of legendary cooks-it was only natural for me to be interested. I never get too fancy because we are far from wealthy but can hold my own for special occaisions and large Holiday meals! My goal is to someday write a cookbook and establish my own legendary status in the family. I married into a family of Volga-German heritage and have been learning the traditional foods of this region. My own background is primarily German-American and agriculturally based. However, my Stepmother is from Louisiana so sometimes a cajun recipe shows up in my cooking.
