about me

I'm a single guy, with a son, I train horses, like the outdoors and like to cook. I don't get to cook as much as I used to, or would like to, but that's only because I dislike cooking just for myself. Fortunately I have other bachelor buddies, who can't or don't like to cook, so I get to keep my hand in it making meals for them at times. It also means I get to try new recipes on them, and they can't grumble TOO much... LOL.

Maybe I'll start dating again someday, because cooking with love, for someone you love, is just fantastic, and I often miss that and all that goes with it. But I'm in no rush.

I've always wanted to own a little saloon/diner/burger/chili place somewhere, maybe it can still happen. I hope so.

As I get older, I find that I'm drawn more to items I need/use/eat from smaller farms and retail places and try to buy things I need in a way that helps the smaller producers, but I'm not fanatical or anything about it. It may be my quieter way of rejecting big box chain everything stores and helping to keep alive the small farms and businesses that were once all so intregal to all of our lives. I think it's important to me to an extent.

Favorite Foods:

I'm a carnivore, 1st and foremost, but I also love a good salad, etc. I'm not so much of a fish or seafood person, but I can and do enjoy it at times, altho I like cooking it for others more than for myself. But give me my meat, beef esp. and I'm one happy cowboy. Feed me a steak and you may not ever get rid of me. I like chicken because it's so versatile and adaptable, yet is still so great even simply grilled or fried. Pork to me, is also equally as good. I may have kissed a lot of pigs in my life, but bacon shall always reign as the queen of my coronary. No regrets, either. Awesome stuff, that bacon.
