about me

I dwell in land of the "Alamo." Here in TX one of my favorite places is Riverwalk... an array of shops, lodging & restaurants along the river. It's so pretty and serene and I highly recommend it as a travel destination just to see it.

I love Tex-Mex food of course, but cornbread, fritters, and just about anything BBQ are my true loves.

I'm 40 years old. We have one curiously entertaining cat - she's a Maine Coon. My husband & I are hopefully going to be starting a family soon now that our careers and homelives are stable. I hope we can.

I love this site. I'm not much for posting recipes as most of the things I make are already on here in some format, but I am here to look up & try new recipes that others enjoy. I have a few favorite chefs that I make & try a lot of their things. I just love the variety on this site! So many people are very helpful too.

Thanks to all who post the great recipes that I recreate in my own kitchen for me & DH.

*** June 2008 UPDATE ***

I just completed my 1st ever contest/event here on Zaar. I just finished "My Three Chefs" and it was so much fun!!!

For anyone interested, I chose the following chefs & their recipes:

1. BlondieItaliana and made her Very Easy Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies (Uses Cookie Mix)

2. Beachbunnymom and made her Easy Strawberry Cake

3. Miss Annie and made her Irish Tea

Thanks to my 3 chefs and all the wonderful hosts & helpers on Zaar!
