about me

I love to read/collect new recipes and have been an avid cookbook collector for over 20 years (last count, over 300!..not to mention the bins of recipes I have cut out of cooking magazines/newspapers, etc.) I often take several versions of a recipe and combine them to make them my own...by adding a few herbs or new ingredients. That's part of the fun of cooking!
I am a transplanted Southerner still getting used to the winters in MI and am happily retired, married to the love of my life and Mom of twin daughters as well as two grown stepchildren.
The kitchen seems to be where everyone congregates in our home and I am happy that my girls share my love of cooking. So many good memories are made in our kitchen!

Favorite Foods:

Basil, garlic, anything spicy, shellfish, fresh fruit, coconut, wild mushrooms, risotto, red wine and chocolate. Not necessarily in that order!!!
