about me

i enjoy ever aspect about food...shopping, growing, storing, cooking, and even the washing up. some of my most life-affirming moments have been food related!


my first real job was in a fish and chip shop, then later i spent five summers as a camp cook...flying into the bush and cooking for starving tree-planters, then two more as a field cook for dinosaur hunters. i also cooked at various cafes, pubs and restos across canada, learning a great deal about people and their vittles.

i don't work in the food industry any more, but certainly relish (!) any opportunity to spend time in my kitchen.

now, as a working mama with two kids under the age of three, most of my creations are 'iron chef' style..."what do i have in the fridge today?" and i like to try to rise to the challenge with tasty, wholesome and attractive dishes. wish me luck! i'll try to keep you posted!
