My family consists of my DH and I plus our three dogs that we rescued from the local shelter. Seamus McCrackin is our little Corgi/Sheltie mix, Romy is our giant Collie/St Bernard mix and Mr. Tibbs the Sheltie is our newest family member.
I'm an Animal Control Officer for the county and a graduate of Ohio State University (Go Bucks!). We're also diehard supporters of the poor Oakland Raiders.
American comfort foods are my faves — meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, spaghetti, beef stew, stuffed peppers, open-face roast beef sandwiches with mashed potatoes and gravy, and I love those chilled desserts using cream cheese, Jell-O, Cool Whip and graham cracker crumbs. I have tons of spiral bound cookbooks from churches, Junior Leagues and have a large vintage collection of those cook booklets from brand name companies.
Usually when searching for new recipes, I'll begin by searching for casserole dishes, crockpot, Amish, Mennonite, Pennsylvania Dutch, and American Midwest & South regions.
