about me

I'm a DC transplant from Ohio from Indiana. Though I am hardly a culinary expert, I have just taken an interest in cooking over the past few years and love learning the basics.

Recently I've become intrigued with the idea of once-a-month cooking. I do love the craft and skill of cooking, but since I work full-time I would love to find a way to put a hot, tasty meal on the table in a hurry.

My mother, who is Japanese, is an incredible cook - from Japanese comfort food to Seafood Newburg to pastitsio. Although I don't think I appreciated her cooking when I lived at home, I can only hope that cooking skills are genetic.

No ultimate favorite restaurant, but Katsu Hama in NYC comes close for when I want to satisfy my tonkatsu cravings.

When I am not cooking, I am knitting or sewing and spoiling my French Bulldog, Lolly.
