Although hardly your traditional southern girl, I come from a huge southern family and have been cooking since I was eight years old. Cooking is more then a hobby, I genuinely get so much pleasure from cooking and providing the people I love with great food. I have to attest, that it truly IS the way to a man's heart! In my opinion, there is nothing more admirable to hold then the truest essence of a homemaker, or as the term is coined today "household engineer"! I am a licensed real estate agent working full-time from home and a soccer mom to my 9 year old son. I am a busy bee but somehow find time to indulge in some of my many passions: dancing, photography, sewing and interior design. Finding that perfect balance is what I strive to do everyday and so far so good. Happy Cooking

Favorite Foods:

I am a bona fide foodie!! My BF of many years grew up in a family who owned and operated a local family restaurant in Colorado his entire childhood so we are always eating well during the holidays, his mothers rack of lamb and prime rib are the best I've ever had. Since we are constantly being bombarded by food on both ends of our families, we try to eat very healthy at home without having to compromise flavor. I have subscribed to Cooking Light magazine for over 6 years and almost always use low sodium/reduced fat in every recipe although I may not state that in the list of ingredients. Also, we eat a lot of fish and over the past few years I have subbed out many dishes for ground turkey over beef. I cook at least 3-4 nights per week. Like many other Zaar members, one of my favorite past times is to sit and read cookbooks.
