about me

Originally born and raised in Chicago. Now that I live in Milwaukee I have yet to find a descent pizza or much in authentic Mexican food. Although it's not all bad because I was introduced to the friday night fish fry and now I don't know what I'd do without it. Also beer and brats means summer has arrived. yum yum.
I love to cook and now have more time to do so because I am a stay-at-home mommy. While I'll eat just about anything, my husband and son are more picky and Recipezaar has been a great way to find something to please everyone.

Favorite Foods:

I love anything spicy!!! I really like Thai, Latin, and Creole food.

Fav junk food is fresh cut french fries and a good Philly cheesesteak.

Best Steak I've had was at "The Packing House" in Milwaukee on Layton. Perfectly tender and juicy and not one bit of fat or grit. I am very picky and was very impressed. They also have an excellent banana cream pie slice dessert at a very reasonable price point.

Best fast food joints in Milwaukee are "Sammy's Taste of Chicago" and a tie with "Martino's".

Best Thai restaurant in Milwaukee is 'The King and I"

Best Cuban food is at "Cubanitas". Plantain chips and guac is a must to start with.

Best BBQ I've had was not where I live now but in a dive in Marion, Alabama refered to appropriately as "The Shack". Not sure whether that was really the name as it is a rickety old shack with a screen door as the entrance but boy oh boy if you ever find yourself in this little town you MUST find this place and eat there. Down home cooking!!

Best reviewed recipe was the "Velvetta Chicken Spaghetti" posted by Doxie lover in the rock 2. Since I reviewed this I've made this several times. The ultimate comfort food!! Soooo very fattening but sooo worth it. All time favorite so far.
