I am a culinary student in Augusta while my husband serves out his time in the navy. I plan on starting a personal chef service within the year and eventually want to own my own coffee shop/ speciality foods store.
I love what you can do with food, it is my chosen art and I am excited by trying new recipes and creating my own. I love eating out and being exposed to new cuisines.
My favorite cookbook is my Food Network Favorites Book, and The Frugal Gourmet's Immigrant cookbook.
I also have an English degree, and I love to read and write stories and poetry. My other hobbies include film, tennis, and traveling.
My favorite dish to cook is Ropa Veija, a Cuban slow cooked beef shredded and served in tortillas with black beans. I am huge fan of Hispanic cooking but I also love Thai, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisines. A lot of experimenting goes on in my kitchen, I've made my own versions of Beef stroganoff, asian-flavored pastas, vegetable lasagnas, and shepherds pie. Usually I try to cook lighter, healthful meals without sacrificing flavor or my carbs or cheese fixes. My favorite resturant is porbably The Cheesecake Factory, because of its delicious and diverse menu. I also enjoy fine dining when I can afford it.
