about me

I live in Bakersfield, Ca, which is at the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley. I teach college level mathematics and cook to relax. I recently joined a farmer's co-op and have been experimenting with ways to incorporate the various fresh fruits and veggies I receive each week. I use friends and family as guinea pigs when I have a new recipe to try out!

I am married with two wonderful sons, ages 15 and 3. My 15-year-old is much like me and loves to cook. His aspirations are to attend culinary school in France in a few years. However, the 3-year-old gives me fits about eating. He has always been a grazer and fights eating any kind of vegetable and all fruits except for bananas!

Favorite Foods:

I love Mexican food that isn't too spicy and Italian food.
