about me

My real name is Tara and yes, I shake my booty to some tunes while I cook. I am a 36 y/o mom of an 8 year old son, Jordan, our cat Gage, and a 4 year old English Bulldog, Halli and 2 frogs. I work full time in the medical field. I love reading, cooking, gardening, animals, music, and of course, dancing. I enjoy spending time w/my son, doing fun kid things with him and always look forward to his little league season. I love the summer and despise winters; I must be cuddled up with a warm blanket, some tea and a good book to be able to endure the winter months here in PA.

My mom is a caterer and runs her catering business with 2 other partners. They also run a downtown cafe and a stand at our local farmers market. Growing up, I never wanted to learn how to cook. Then I started my family and thankfully, stumbled upon Zaar on nite on the web while looking for a carrot recipe...and here I am, 8 years later! Now, my mom tells me that if she knew then what she knows now, I would've been cooking a long time ago....thanks to the help of this website!

Favorite Foods:

I especially love soups, Italian, Mexican, Chinese and Greek cuisine; seafood, a good medium rare steak smothered in mushrooms and onions and REAL pizza, none of this pizza chain crap. There is also nothing like a good home cooked meal from Mom.... a real comfort meal and I can't pass up true PA Dutch stick to your ribs dishes. I will try anything once. My least favorite foods are raw broccoli and cauliflower...just can't do it. I pretty much like anything, even liver and onions once in a while! Desserts and chocolate I could do with or do without. I love to cook soups and whole meals; not much of a baker.
