I have cooked for over 35 years in three different countries - professionally in two (Canada and US). I had to give it up (hours not conducive to taking care of children and elderly parents) and get a real job (read that as regular office hours) so went to work for a regulatory authority.
Have been a single mom for 14 years (daughter now 22, son 16) and a grandmom for 2!
I still keep my hand in the cooking arena with giving classes and programs, catering for charity events, consulting when needed, and working on cookbooks. Great way to have the best of all worlds!
I am active in my son's school (Chair of Grounds Committe and on the Hospitality Committe - what a surprise!). I also love herb and flower gardening, reading, and my two Westies and three cats!!

Southern Italian; French; Tex-Mex, Scottish; fresh seafood; grilled meats and veggies; fresh baked pastries ... Basically, if it can't out run me, I will give it a go!
EDIT 2/9/08: Actually, there is one food I truly do not like - Octopus! Thanks to Evelyn in Athens for reminding me with that great picture she posted in the RSC # 11 Chat area! LOL!! It appears I am not alone!
