about me

I am a Kindergarten teacher in the lovely state of PA. I relocated from NY state in the summer of 2007. I love to cook and bake for anyone who will eat my creations, but especially for my husband of 4 years. I tend to gravitate toward Italian dishes, but that is just what I grew up on. I do love to try new recipes, though, especially Thai and Mexican dishes and most recently Eastern European dishes (my husband's mother is half Czechoslovakian).

My favorite cookbook of all time is the Better Homes and Gardens binder that my mother-in-law gave me shortly before I was married. It has everything a new cook needs to get used to the kitchen. Although I feel very comfortable in the kitchen at this point, I always find myself with a little question about metric equivalents, ingredient substitutions, bake/cook times, etc. and this binder has all of that info. I love Recipezaar because it seems that I can ALWAYS find what I'm looking for here, especially home-style ethnic recipes.

When I'm not cooking or baking I love to read, play guitar, listen to music (especially live music), garden, play games, shop, and spend time outdoors. All of these things are more fun with my hubby, of course.

Favorite Foods:

I love cooking Pad Thai, and my husband's friends have been known to request that. My husband also loves my oven-barbecued baked ribs and I love my lasagna with hot sausage and spinach filling.
