about me

I recently moved back to the Rochester area after teaching in Northern New York for 2 years, and now I'm starting a new career in real estate! I'm currently living with my parents and our very spoiled 17 year old cat, Fluffy. As for my hobbies, my favorite one is cooking, of course! I also enjoy singing and listening to almost all types of music, reading (especially fantasy novels), writing, movies, and spending time with friends and family. You might know my mom, Whisper, since I got her addicted to Zaar! As for my favorite places on Zaar, you'll frequently find me playing Zaar Tag, because it's full of great people and is a good way to discover delicious new recipes. You'll also find me chatting with my Ontario Zaar buddies, whom I've had the good fortune to meet in person twice, and the Central New York Zaars, whom I've met once!

RAK list:
1. Seedless jams and jellies
2. Recipe mixes (dairy-free)
3. Cookbooks (especially local community cookbooks) or cooking magazines
4. Chocolate! (Milk chocolate is okay because that's one of the few dairy products I cheat on sometimes)
5. Herbal teas
6. A postcard from your area
7. Anything unique to your area (edible or not)
8. A book you have read and enjoyed (especially fantasy)
9. For those with CD burners, a compilation of your favorite music
10. I would appreciate anything you choose to send!

Favorite Foods:

I admit it, I have a huge sweet tooth! I love sweet foods like quick breads, muffins, and cookies, and I'm a major chocaholic. My favorite main dishes usually involve chicken. I'm also a big fan of quick and easy recipes and comfort foods, so I have quite a few of those posted. The only foods I can think of that I dislike are spicy foods!

Due to health issues, I mainly stick to a dairy-free, low-fat diet. I've tried to post a lot of those types of recipes here on Zaar to help out those with similar dietary needs. Those of you who are able to use dairy products, feel free to substitute them for the soy milk, soy yogurt, etc. in any of my recipes. I don't want to drive anyone away with my "weird" ingredients! I hope you enjoy my recipes, and I can't wait to try yours!
