Homebody in WV

about me

I'm a teacher and love my work, but I'm still a true homebody. I like cooking, sewing, decorating, gardening, crafts, even cleaning when I have the time! I have two grown sons and a grandson that I see every other weekend, and I've always been a recipe and cookbook collector. I like heirloom and comfort foods as well as quick and easy recipes for weeknights. I enjoy trying new recipes that don't require a lot of exotic ingredients, are easy to make, and are family pleasers. High blood pressure runs in both my and DH's family, so I'm learning to cook the low sodium way. I'm very organized in the kitchen; I shop from a master list, keep a running inventory of my freezer, and stock up when the sales are good.

Favorite Foods:

I love all kinds of pasta, salads, soups, recipes incorporating fresh veggies and fruits, homeade breads, and simple old fashioned desserts. I like baking bread and homeade cakes, but I'm known for my pies. I guess that's because I cook mainly for the menfolk. My favorite restaurant is Panera Bread--broccoli cheddar soup, sourdough bread, asian salads, chai tea latte, and pumpkin muffins are my favorites.
