I have been married for 19 years and have a 14 year old son, we also have a 3 and a half year old daughter who was shall I say is our "menopausal surprise". I have lived in Florida since I was 2 yrs. old, so, thats almost 48 years that I have lived here. love to cook and get recipes from recipezaar ALL THE TIME. I used to work in a high stress job for a dot com company, but than my father was diagnosed with Lung Cancer one year ago (and he never smoked a day in his life, what a kick in the teeth). I tried to spend as much time as I could with him since I knew he could go at anytime. ONe thing I am very thankful for is that he got to know our new daughter Leah..no matter how confused he may have been on certain days, When I brought her in to visit him, he would snap right back to his old regular self. So again I am very thankful for that time. It put a lot of things in perspective for me after he died...I still miss him so much...Sorry, I didnt mean to make this too sappy. I have decided not to go back to work for a while. I want to stay home and enjoy my kids and husband. I am very much into volunteering and will be doing a lot at the end of August when Leah (who will be 2 by then) will be starting the 2 year old pre school class at Temple Beth El (I went their too, can you believe it). I will also be volunteering at my son's school but since he is going into 8th grade now, I will just be doing something in the office. G-D forbid he might run into me when he is with some of his friends...I guess you get the picture that I really like to be a "hands on mom" even at my age. I am logged on to this site pretty much every day, getting new recipes or posting some of my own. This web site is "THE BEST" and VERY ADDICTING!
I am one who tries to look for the silver lining in everything, what else can you do. It's the people that cannot do that, they are the one's that tend to irritate me...the whiners, the poor me's...the people who don't know how to listen...I'm sure you know the type I'm talking about. Sorry, I didnt mean for this to be so long, but as you can see, I love my family first and formost, but second is cooking, it's like therapy to me. Since I found Zaar several years ago, it has been a G-D send......
Seafood, Pasta dishes, baking and I love finding new crockpot recipes..I think I have turned into a crockpot freak...love to use it ALL the time. I have just ventured into baking more than usual, I am trying breads (sans the machine) pastries, cookies and cakes. Now that it is so brutally hot her during the summer, I am really getting into some new fresh fruit recipes, blueberries, strawberries, apples, pineapples, etc. you get the general idea...I will be posting a lot of these new summer recipes that I have created.
