I live in beautiful Idaho, where the snow flies more often than not! So living in this cold climate, I do a lot of baking. I have been married to my wonderful, fun-loving husband for 12 years and we have 2 handsome, active boys. Right now I'm a stay at home mom, but in my past life I was an English teacher. My family and I LOVE the outdoors, especially the mountains. We backpack, flyfish, and hike as much as we can. I also love to garden, which I have found to be a challenge at times in this climate and elevation, but that hasn't stopped my yet. Maybe I will get lucky this year and Santa will build me a greenhouse or some cold frames!

Favorite Foods:

I love almost all foods, anything in moderation, that is. My family is Czech, so I was raised on pork sausage, kraut and potatoes, but in recent year I have opted for a more healthy diet. Don't get me wrong, though, I MUST have my dumplings on occasion, and I also want my boys to experience the food of our mother-land.
Some of my favorite "old country" foods are runzas, kolaches, potato dumplings with tomato gravy, and holska. I will never make any of these dishes as good as Grandma Olga did, but I enjoy making them just the same.
