about me

I live just outside of Charleston, moved here 10 years ago from Long Island New York.

I am retired, disabled partially but still get around with my cane.

As you can see, I'm 67 (where did those years go?) Widowed simce 1982.
I have a Siamese Snowshoe cat, almost 5 and I love, love, love my cat. He's a real cuddle in type. However, he weighs almost 16 pounds and kinda crushes me when he wants to be held. The Doctor said he's "just a big cat" (I wish my Doctor said the same to me)LOL

For fun, I love to cook but am not always able to since I also have Fibro-Mialgia and I never know what day it makes me tired. I can work through some discomfort but I hate it when I feel so good, go to the store thinking of a million things I want to cook and then I lose my strength. I've had to give away some of the food that would spoil.

I can't think of a favorite cookbook because I have a gazillion of them and get something from each and even though I have some favorite sites, I'm STILL buying them. Every now and them I just gather up some and give them away. My pet peeve is "me" and this insatiable quest to collect all these books when I now have the internet. aargh!
I was up to 4:30am last night just looking at Greek recipes (that was the second night for that) I finally made a list of all the Greek cookbooks here and will check out one at a time (OCD you bet) I have no excuse for my crazyness.

I'm going now to upgrade to Premium Membership and hope I'll be able to understand everything.

Favorite Foods:

My favorite food is Greek since my paternal parent was Greek and I learned to love Greek food from my YiaYia (Grandmother)

However, the maternal side was from the South and I love Southern food as well.

Ok! Ok! I just love food. I haven't found much I DON'T like to eat OR cook

It's hard to say what I'm famous for because I mix it up a lot. I'm not a REAL cook who makes up recipes BUT I'm usually able to pick a great recipe and make it my own(thanks everybody) and have fooled a lot of people into thinking I AM a great cook (See, you CAN fool some of the people some of the time)LOL

Everybody must be bored by now and half asleep, so I better quit now.
