I worked for a while at a chocolate shop where I learned to make candy in a copper pot that was about 25lbs and fell in love with it. I dream of being a confectioner but was forced to leave the job when my boss refused to follow health and safety codes and it was that or lose all my fingernails from constant exposure to bleach. That and he seemed to think he could get me to leave my fiance for him.
Anyway, out with the bad, in with the good. I'm working now from home as a writer and looking for a new source of income to tide me over until writing will sustain me, so right now my kitchen is running on bare bones, which makes me sad but also forces me to get creative.
I love making candy in general, and my favorite thing to make is divinity. Well, at the moment anyway.
I'm also famous at the future-inlaws for rummaging through their cupbords and throwing together feasts with whatever I find. My fiance's sister usualy insists I cook for her at least once while I'm visiting.
I'm also told I make a killer steak. My fiance hates red meat, doesn't like the taste, and loves my steak. Wait, maybe that means it doesn't taste like steak at all...hrm.
