I've decided to put my mother's and grandmother's recipes on the internet to preserve them and share them with family. These are Depression-era and World War II recipes from when butter, sugar and other items were too costly or rationed. My family were coal miners and farmers, so these recipes won't be calorie conscious or low-fat, as these people needed fuel to work a long hard day. I'd like to preserve the odd measurements like 'butter the size of an egg' or a 'softball size onion' so forgive me on that score. That's part of what makes them interesting to me.
