I have lived in San Antonio since 1990, and I love this place. The weather is great, except for summer. I don't do outside in the summer!!
My favorite cookbook (today) is Texas Home Cooking by Bill and Cheryl Jamison. They have written many books, but this is the one I go to most often.
I am a patio gardener since my house sits on a limestone quarry and has rocky, soil. Digging is almost impossible, unless you use a jackhammer. However, I do manage to have a nice kitchen herb garden outside the back door, and I love using them in my cooking.
Meet my two Seal Point Siamese. That keep me company and keep me laughing.

I love Mexican food....all of it!! Tex-Mex, authentic Mexican, and New Mexican. Each one is wonderful and unique. San Antonio has very large German and Polish communities, too, and I enjoy those dishes also. I love a good rib-eye steak, but I don't get those very often sigh
I have a huge collection of cookbooks. My favorite books are the Texas cookbooks with the history of recipes and the history of the people here in Texas. I find those stories and recipes fascinating.
I hope you find some recipe here that you would like to make.
