You think dogs will not be in heaven? I tell you, they will be there long before any of us. ~Robert Louis Stevenson

I live in coastal Maine. We are about 2 miles from saltwater. Don't get too excited, no beachfront here, but it is the ocean and on good days you can smell it from the house. I've lived here now for about 9 years and really love it. I am originally from central Connecticut so the openess here is really inviting.

I work for the State of Maine as a chemist doing water testing. Its a pretty interesting job with its good and bad points. I would much rather be the one doing the collecting of the samples and the analysis of the data. But I'm close, maybe someday. I went to school for marine biology and am still awed and inspired by the ocean and the variety of life there. I am great to take to the beach, just ask my friends. I can actually tell you what kind of seaweed in stuck in your bathing suit!

I am married to a great guy who actually understands me most of the time. He's the silent type unless its just me and then he's the one to do all the talking. Through him I've gained a great BIL and SIL. Its great to finally have a sister, we get along great. Between my man and I we have 5 nephews and 3 nieces. My oldest nephew (18) is in the army and will leave for Iraq at the end of the month. He has turned into quite the young man and we are all so proud of him.

I still get down to Connecticut about once a month or so. My mom is still there and she is the rock of my life. I couldn't have asked for anything more and now is so much more than just my mom. She is my friend and advisor and just the world to me. Hopefully I can get her up here to Maine sooner or later.

I love to watch sports, which is funny since my husband doesn't, lol. He'll watch the playoffs and superbowl, but other than that, kinda grumbles when I have a game on. Obviously I love the Boston Red Sox and also the New England Patriots. I've also been a Green Bay Packer fan since I was a little girl (ya just gotta love Brett Favre). There is nothing better during the winter than spending the whole day watching football and cooking. I love when I have the time to just do that.

I am coming up on my 5 year anniversary here at Zaar, what a great time I've had. So much to cook, so little time, lol. I really hate when my real life interferes with my Zaar time. I've met so many wonderful personalities here at Zaar and can't wait to see what comes next. Happy Cooking!

Favorite Foods:

I really enoy all kinds of foods, but I am most partial to seafood and anything with cheese. Italian and Polish are two regional favorites and I've recently become addicted to the Thai restaurant down the road from work. I am slowly making my way through the menu and trying different things. I tend to cook alot of "homey" dinners with meat and potatoes which is the man's favorite.
