about me

I was born in Israel, and moved to Los Angeles when I was 9 years old. I got married when I was 22, graduated medical school at 29. We have been living in New York for 6 years, and we have 2 kids - a son, 5, and a daughter, 20mo.

On the weekdays I am pressed for time so I need quick meal recipes that are delicious for the family, but I love to splurge on the weekend on more fancy dishes that may require more prep time. I also love to learn about anything culinary, technique and otherwise. I'm also a fanatic about proper kitchen utensils, which has become expensive these days that I need 2 of everything for both meat and dairy.
My dream kitchen would have a Wolf Refrigerator and Wolf Freezer (2 separate appliances, BTW), brick oven, professional double oven, an island with an extra sink, enough drawers that I can fit my entire winter clothing in if I wanted to, the Wusthof Culinar knife collection (>$1000) for meat and dairy; oh my, I think I should stop that now... I may run over to another page.
You get the point.

Favorite Foods:

I love true ethnic foods from Israel, Russia, Yemen, and Morocco. My favorite cuisine is French - no comparison. I recently switched to a Kosher home, so all my recipes will be Kosher.
I don't have any favorite restaurants, but enjoy eating out in any restaurant which serves delicious seasonal fare. I enjoy eating beautiful food that is creative in both textures, colors, and flavor combinations, and I'm a strong believer in fresh ingredients.
I am definitely famous for my chicken soup, potato kugel, noodle kugel, and cheesecake (that's how I trapped my husband, hehe). I get a lot of compliments from guests, though - no matter what I cook. Sometimes I wish I had the time for culinary school to really learn the art as it should be known. In the meantime, I am learning a lot about Kosher cooking (and law) lately, and am looking forward to experiment with Kosher French cooking at home.

I am relatively new to the site, so keep an eye out for more of my recipes, which I hope to put up soon.

Bon Appetite, Priyatnova appetita, Beteavon, Buen Provecho!
