DH and I live on a working farm in southern Maine. For fun I like to garden, cook, read, remodel, and keep in touch with family and friends.
My fourteen-year-old grand niece is currently visiting for the school year. Here's her photo:

We have three grown children of my DH's. They all live in California. We also have four adorable indoor cats. And a grandchild as of February '09!
I work outside the home full time, and so does my DH. I'm in finance and accounting for a large mission-driven mental health services agency, while DH is in hospital technology.
DH is picky eater. Me, from midwest, became a "foodie" after living in San Francisco Bay Area for most of my adult life; I am originally from Dayton, Ohio. DH is native of SF.
When I started using 'Zaar, I only posted recipes that I've tried and liked or loved. Now I also post recipes that I'm interested in trying because I find 'Zaar so convenient to use in my kitchen! I rarely use a cookbook now; I principally use my kitchen computer with several pages of 'Zaar at the ready!
Zaar chefs I've had the pleasure of meeting!

I like to try a variety of cuisines. Japanese cuisine is my favorite, although my heritage is Finnish so I try out those recipes. Basically, I haven't met a cuisine I don't like — that's the short list!
We grow rhubarb and asparagus, and assorted vegetables during our short growing season.
My favorite cookbooks are:
Joy of Cooking,
Any books by James Peterson,
Any Cooks Illustrated books or magazines (I have a very large collection),
Lora Brody's Pizza, Focaccia, Flat, and Filled Breads From Your Bread Machine — Perfect Every Time
