about me

Born and raised in Texas. Grew up on a farm and ranch riding the plow with my dad and feeding the cows. I started cooking early by baking cookies on Sunday afternoons and cooking stuff like bacon and eggs, burgers and steaks. My love of cooking increased while being on my own in college. I've been cooking for over 20 years. I'm married with a boy and girl. I work at my daughter's school part-time.

Favorite Foods:

I like to eat and I like pretty much everything. My favorites are lobster tails and crab legs with melted butter for dipping.
My family's favorite potato dishes: the kids always love french fries but other favorite potatoes are hash browns, potato casserole and grilled or broiled potatoes with herbs.
Only dh and I like seafood; the kids haven't aquired a taste for it yet. However, dd likes fried shrimp sometimes.
I'm not afraid to try new and strange foods. The strangest ones I've had are escargot (snails), crawfish, alligator and rattlesnake. I tried menudo with tripe (cow stomach) once and I HATED it! I hate liver as well. Yes, I am a meat-eater. I have probably tried most veggies but I don't really have favorites.
I like potatoes, corn, okra (of course) tomatoes, fresh spinach, mixed greens, mushrooms, green beans, zucchini, squash and asparagus the most.
The only veggie that I can think of that I hate is green peas.
My favorite restaurants where we live are a local Japanese restaurant, a local Mexican restaurant, and we always enjoy Outback and Olive Garden or Red Lobster. My favorite foods are Seafood, Cajun, Italian, Mexican, Japanese, American and BBQ. Sometimes I like Chinese.
