about me

I just finished graduate school in December and recently got a job in a psychiatry and neuroscience research lab that studies children with autism. My husband is working on his PhD in astrophysics at the University of Colorado and hopes to be a professor when he is finished.

We love living so close to the Rockies and spend lots of time hiking when the weather is nice, which is most days in Colorado

Cooking has quickly become my favorite hobby, I love exploring new types of cuisine and having dinner parties. We are fortunate to have a lot of specialty markets in the area that carry a lot of exotic meats, vegetables, and spices. Finding Zaar has been very helpful in trying out these new foods, and has become the sole go-to for finding new recipes.

I absolutely love tea and am so lucky to live only 15 miles from the Celestial Seasonings factory! Every time I go there, I get one box of almost every kind they make....my hubby thinks I have a serious addiction!

Favorite Foods:

We like almost anything, but chocolate and cheese are definite weaknesses! To my hubby's disappointment, I don't like onions in most dishes, but he's learned to live with it.

Italian, Greek, and Asian cuisine are favorites. As I have been experimenting more with chili peppers and increasing my heat tolerance, I am also enjoying Mexican food more.
