about me

I grew up beside a mother who loved to cook... she was (and still is) a caterer.

Let me start over. I grew up as far away from the kitchen as possible! My mother, bless her, always tried to drag me in... when she could find me. But always failed.

15 years later, just recently, I recall her saying that for a little while she was worried that I was never going to be able to cook. But impressed that I really can (and I'm quite good). Thanks Mom

The big difference between her and I; She cooks by thought... I cook by book. And beleive me, there are people out there who can't do either!

To my amusement, I have stumbled across Recipe Zaar. My new best friend.

Well, actually, my real best friend told me about it... but I failed to listen. Until my husband and I started trying to conceive in 2007 and I began eating much heathier. I needed a recipe for lentils and google lead me straight to here. Jena... you were right!

Here we are in the present day, and I am still using RecipeZaar as my guidebook for great meals.

Peas (the little green ones...unless they are in my Moms 9 layered salad)

Bananas (bleh)

But I eat them all anyways.

Everything else I LOOOVVVVEEE - Who started the rumor 'the way to a mans heart is through his stomach' - I beg to differ! I am in no way a man, and I'd prefer a nice meal over flowers any day!

My cooking bible is 'The Complete Guide to Country Cooking' - if you don't own it already, I command you to get it!.....NOW!
