about me

I work at home (in Japan) as a freelance translator, and baking/cooking is one of my favorite pastime. Great way to decompress and it gives me instant gratification!

I go to the gym religiously so I can keep baking. I also try to cook well-balanced, low-fat nutritious meals so I can justify having desserts.

I'm addicted to food blogs, and some of my favorites include 101 cookbooks (yes, I can relate to the name), Simply Recipes, Chocolate and Zucchini, and the list just goes on and on... It's scary how much printouts I have from the Internet waiting for their turn to be served on the table. I wish I had four stomachs like a cow (really).

I enjoy gardening and have two dogs that never fail to put a smile on my face. I'm also very lucky to have a husband who enjoys the same kind of food as I do. He inspires and motivates me to cook! (I inspire him to do the dishes.)

I also have a passion for travel and usually try to visit a country I've never been to before. So far I traveled Thailand, Malaysia, India, Singapore, Korea, UK, Italy, Southern Africa, Canada, etc. While traveling, I go crazy sampling local food from street stalls and my suitcase will be packed with interesting food stuff I pick up at the market.
