OK, big move!! From sin city to small town girl. Family decided Las Vegas NV had gotten just too big for us. The traffic and congestion had become too much like Orange County in California. Since we had a home based business that was computer driven, it didn't matter where we were. The small town life appealed to all of us. It's great!

Worked in the hotel industry for 27 years, but am now on the disabled list. Don't get out much anymore, but still love to read recipes and cook for my family. When I moved in with my sister almost 15 years ago, she was glad to pass the cooking chores to me. I don't think I got a bad deal, as I love to find just the right recipes to serve. (And I don't have to clean up!)

A younger(RATS!)adopted sister now lives with me and my older sister. My nephew is still in Las Vegas waiting for the house down there to sell. Wouldn't you know the market would bottom out in home sales!!!
He bought a home here in Tucumcari, and has rented it out until he can move here.

My biggest passion is my reading. I can't go to bed at night until I have read something, even if its the back of a bag of potato chips!

Favorite Foods:There isn't a favorite dish to cook, unless I can claim the whole Thanksgiving dinner! I make the whole enchilada (excluding my sister's sweet potato casserole. NO MARSHMALLOWS! (I really should post her recipe. It's to die for!) We love the traditional dishes: Roasted turkey, mashed potatoes with giblet gravy, sausage stuffing, asparagus with hollandaise, deviled eggs, and don't forget the pumpkin, cherry and mincemeat pies! It's really funny, but I can't make any gravy that tastes any good except this feast gravy. Must be paranoid (you're just jealous because the voices talk only to me).....

Yeah! Yeah! It's a lot for just 3 or 4 people, but we are so used to making for a houseful, that nothing tastes good unless it is made in bulk. I think next year, we may try adopting a family for Thanksgiving.!! Sounds like a great idea!!!
