about me

We live in the lovely Lanark Highlands, outside of Ottawa Ontario. My two grown daughters live on the West Coast, so our "surrogate" kids are two golden retrievers- one of each. My favourite past times include quilting, gardening, reading and of course cooking! My picture is of our new "baby" Heidi. She's a golden retriever/great pyrenees. We've had her for less than a week and she's captured our hearts already. The verdict is still out with our other two dogs however .

Favorite Foods:

I stll think it's hard to beat a perfectly grilled steak or hamburger- especially in the dead of winter! I love anything that has cheese as an ingredient. We are fortunate to live close to Balderson, Ont., which is famous for it's cheese- especially the 5 year old cheddar.
I'm probably best known for my desserts- pies, cheesecakes, cookies. Sugar is not one of my vices- just like to bake for the ones I love! Also make all my own buns for hamburgers etc.- just can't eat store bought after making the real thing.
