chef, fashion designer, hockey fanatic. Avid reader, knitter, and pet owner. I like to travel, go new places, and met new people. One thing I can't understand is picky eaters... My parents never raised me to be a picky eater.. How do you know if you don't like it if you never ate it?? Just because it looks different and smells different doesn't mean it's not tasty. Life is all about experiences... and you can't experience anything if you are unwilling to try new things.
and on the whole pizza wars.. Chicago style deep dish (it's stuffed!)
And... they need to bring a Waffle House to the Upper Midwest!
ANYTHING! My favorite is Greek, Italian, Mexican, Indian, and Korean (as close to authentic as possible)
CHI-CHI's and similar joints is NOT Mexican. It's gringo food. You want real Mexican? Go to a small place owned by a Mexican family. You see real Mexicans eating there, chances are it's authentic!
Except liver and onions, and ham. Ham gives me headaches. I love Korean food, especially KimChee and keep joking that I am gonna travel to Korea and kidnap a few Koreans and force them to open a restaurant for me. Hey! It's a joke.
I love eating out and trying new foods. I grew up in Chicago, and they have an array of culinary delights in that city. Man, I miss Portillos!
Anyway... Checking out new places to eat is one of my favorite things to do, but what turns me off most is bad service. If the food is great, but the staff is rude, I will not go back.
Oh. and Scandinavian food. smoked fish, herring, lutefisk, lefse... I love it! I am of Norse heritage and proud of it!
