about me

Hi, I live in Alamogordo, NM. My husband is Military retired and we live about 5 miles out of town in the desert! We LOVE it here. We feed all kinds of wild birds including Roadrunners who come very boldly for hamburger meat!! We also have Cottontail rabbits and squirells who come for corn and bird seed! We have 3 little Doxies, one who has Addison's disease. I love to cook!! I make quilts, crochet, embroidery and sew. All 4 kids have been gone from home for years so we now enjoy 8 grandkids and 2 great grands with another on the way. My husband plays guitar and I acompany him on either the slide guitar or my Autoharp. We like the OLD songs, not the new country western stuff. If I have a pet peeve I guess it would be people who put kidney beans and tomatoes in Chili!!

Favorite Foods:

Our all time favorite foods is New Mexican cuisine!! It is similar to to Mexican and Tex-Mex but definately not the same!! Those are good but New Mexican is the best! (hey, I'm not opiniated!!) I make a Wonderful Green Chile Stew!! I make my own bread - all of it!! I own 4 breadmakers but most of the time I bake my bread in the oven. I do not like the recipes which come with the bradmakers but have my own which is wonderful!! (no brag! just fact!!) If I have a favorite it would have to be Margo's here in Alamogordo - Great Mexican food!! Our Van Winkle's Market makes a wonderful Green Chili Cheesburger!!
