I'm a veterinary technician with a serious passion for food. I love to cook, and spend hours surfing for recipes, looking for something new and special to make for me & my husband.
Fave cookbooks: Country Suppers, anything by the Jamisons, Paula Deen, and Jacques Pepin who really sparked my interest in cooking by putting more advanced techniques in terms accessible to me.
I adore all kinds of cheese, and also coffee, tea, chocolate, and deli meats like prosciutto, salami, etc.
I realized I was a pretty good cook when my hubby told me, "You could teach my mom a thing or two about cooking pork chops." I also love to make soups, stews and sauces. I enjoy different types of ethnic foods. Am currently trying to master the art of smoking foods.
I like small, locally owned restaurants. My current favorite in Denver: Sparrow.
