about me

My family and I live in Kentucky and I work on an Army post as a clerk. I have one son and one daughter and a ferret (my four-legged son...). My husband is usually willing to try just about anything I cook up for him at least once, and he'll give me an honest opinion on what ever it is. I love to get information from "The Joy of Cooking", but I like to get recipes online because of the reviews and variations that I may never think of on my own.

I enjoy baking more than cooking, and I am developing a new-found appreciation for my Crock-Pot. I like the fact that I can make real food without heating the kitchen up in the summer.

Favorite Foods:

I love Italian-American food like pizza, lasagna, and baked ziti. I also love Tex-Mex food like tacos, burritos, and enchiladas. I don't really like mushrooms (texture) and I can't eat raw tomatoes (bad experience with them). I am a chocolate fiend and in the summertime I love all the fresh fruit I can get my hands on. I like to try to "sneak" healthy stuff into some of the dishes I prepare because my son (4 years old) is a bit picky. My daughter (2 years old) loves food and will eat just about everything, and piles of it, too!

I'm not famous for any particular dish, I'm more famous for liking to try new dishes, and the girls at work like it when we have meetings on Fridays because that usually means I'll be bringing in some new muffin, cake, cookie, or bread for them to try.
