I am an Aussie and moved to Southern California in 1991. My boyfriend is the picky eater, and I am the one with all the allergies. Together we are a challenge to cook for.
I have had the wonderful experience of living in so many different places. During my late-teens my Dad became quite the nomad and we moved 13 times in 3 years. Just a few of the places I have spent time are: Melbourne Australia (of course!), Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Southern California, New York, and Harrisburg PA. Each place gave me a lesson in life and food. If you were to ask me what I miss about each place my first choice would be the food.
I have many food, environmental, and medical allergies. I was recently diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis and will have to now give up a lot of my favorite foods to learn how to manage the condition. If any of you out there also have IC, I would love to talk to you and find out what you do to manage your diet and treat flare-ups.
