I take great comfort in cooking and preparing delicious delicacies for my friends and family. Great joy is found in Putting together unique salads in our steamy summer months and soul warming soups in the winter.
We live in South Mississippi (where days without humidity are rare) in the oldest house in Pearl River County (Translates into constant maintenance). I am a Realtor and a Zaar junkie. I have the need to cook and create and read about food. Since moving to the country 11 years ago we have learned to be better home chefs because the nearest restaurant is quite a hike. Therefore you'll see recipes by both Penny (me) and Ed (DH), and even sometimes Lizzie (DD). Thank you to all at Zaar for providing this site!

I have had the most wonderful first half of my life! I'm thankful to have been to 3 Superbowls, one World Series, worked on a major motion picture, danced at an inaugural ball- where I met my dear husband, started and sold two successful businessses, celebrated my birthday twice in one year when I crossed the International dateline on December 20th, raised chickens, thrown a party for 1500, been hired by Disney and worked with three Presidents. I have been married over 27 years, have THE most beautiful daughter, I've served on the PTO for 7 years, run and lost (One of God's greatist gifts are unanswered prayers)a position on the school board, was a real estate investor then became a Realtor to help others. I have the most wonderful friends, have read some great books, watched the birth of a baby, held a hummingbird, seen the Northern Lights, and have had beloved dogs. I have planted and harvested my own vegetables and herbs. I have cooked some fabulously memorable meals. I've been salmon fishing in Alaska and barracuda fishing in Belize. I caught a bonefish on a fly with my first try. I have flown in seaplanes and jets, traveled on trains and cruised for an entire month. I've communicated with howling monkeys in the rainforest of Costa Rica, talked to dolphins in the Florida Keys, snorkeled with nurse sharks and Rays in Belize, and giant Cod fish on the Great Barrier Reef. I've skiied the Rockies and waterskiied in bayous. I've hunted pheasant in Virginia and ducks in Louisiana. All of that and I'm only half done with this wonderful life. What's next?
