about me

I live in a beautiful seaside town in Massachusetts with my husband, 2 daughters (4 and 2 years old), a huge lab mix and 2 cats. I currently stay at home with the kids and animals, but in the past was a science teacher and potter. I love reading and recently started writing. It helps keep my brain from turning to mush. Update: Just finished my first book! Now to just get it published.

I love cooking and can't resist trying to figure out what ingredients went into a good meal. I'm not really one for measuring, and usually just make things up as I go along. My brain tends to shut down at the sight of too many ingredients in a recipe (must be A.D.D. or something) so that's something I'm trying to work on. Most of my recipes are quick and easy to make, since I'm usually trying to get dinner out in a hurry. My family is greek and my husband is irish, but also lived in Spain for several years, so my cooking tends to reflect those cultures, but in general we're fairly adventurous.

When I'm not cooking or chasing after the kids, I love sitting down with a good book (most likely a mystery) or surfing Recipezaar, usually with a cup of tea and cookie close at hand.

Update: Just got a new camera, so hopefully my pictures will improve drastically. I had been using the camera on my cell. Needles to say the pics weren't great. I'll try retaking any that I've already posted.

Favorite Foods:

My favorites are Indian, pizza, ice cream, sushi, and custards. I'll try just about anything once, and sometimes I'll find myself attracted to a certain food because of it's texture even if the flavor isn't that good (so weird). The foods I dislike are few and far between but I don't care for celery and, unless it's in a cake, I don't really care for cooked carrots either.
