about me

I work as a School Psychologist in Michigan and in January 2007, I received my doctorate in Educational Psychology from Wayne State University in Detroit. I am glad to be finished, and with that behind me, I can concentrate on doing more of the things that I like to do---like look up recipes on Recipezaar!!!

I married my wonderful and handsome husband, Sean, this past August 2007. He has taken up gardening, so we planted vegetable and herb gardens this last year, and really enjoyed cooking with our own fresh ingredients. We most often cook together, so my reviews typically reflect our joint opinions. He's the better cook, so I pick up a lot of my techniques from him.

My other interests include reading (now that I have time), Irish dancing (I've taken a class for the last several years), "appreciating" wine (I use the term loosely), and listening to and going to see Irish bands (I love the Pogues).

I also enjoy travelling, especially around Western Europe, where I have been multiple times. One of my favorite places is Italy, and Sean and I had a great time on our honeymoon eating, drinking, and sightseeing in the Cinque Terre and in Tuscany.

Besides my husband, the other light of my life is my kitten, Chloe, whom I absolutely adore.

A Word on My Postings and Reviews:
I don't post recipes that I haven't tried first and to which I would not give 5 stars and make again. On recipes that I review, 5 stars means I absolutely love it, I copied it down, and will enjoy making in the future. If I give the recipe 4 stars, it means I enjoyed it, however, I would make modifications if I were to make it again. 3 stars means it was ok and it probably had some nice aspects such as being fast to make or made for a nice presentation, but I won't make it again. 2 stars would mean I really did not like it and it was not worth the effort. 1 star I just don't anticipate giving anyone.

Favorite Foods:

I love seafood, ethnic foods (especially Italian, Spanish, Indian, Thai), and basically anything with some heat (I'm quite fond of my new hot pepper garden). I like my meat and potatoes, and salt; but am not much into sweets or baked goods. I'm one of the only people I know that does not really care for cake or chocolate, going back as far as childhood (ask my mom, I used to eat birthday pie instead of cake)!
