THANK YOU for stopping by!

I was born in India but was brought up in the Middle East (Dubai). Met my DH in Dubai in 2001, he's English from West Yorkshire and he's a maths teacher.

We got married in 2004.
DD was born on 4th of May, 2005.
Moved to Norway in the summer of 2006.
DS was born on 26th of Oct, 2007.

My super-troupers! That 'crown' DD's wearing was made at her nursery for her B'day and she insisted on wearing it for the pic!

We live in a tiny little 'BEAUTIFUL' village by the fjord. The picture posted above was taken by my DH when it had snowed and that's the view from our balcony.

This is the 'other' view from our balcony (not that we get to see a rainbow everyday!!!), it was by chance that I'd spotted it and had to take a pic.

The downside, if I may say so, is that there are NO restaurants or take-aways. The only place you can dine out here is at the college canteen! No jokes. So its cooking every single day here, not that I am complaining, but we do miss the occasional chinese or thai take-away! I enjoy cooking and love trying out something new each time.. the students at the college are my guinea pigs!! And since I do not work here I have the time to experiment new dishes more often now.

We do not eat pork due to religious reasons and I do not use alcohol in cooking. And since we live 'out in the sticks', I search for recipes that carry ingredients I can get hold of locally (or I have stocked in my cupboard!). Recipes I have posted are ALL tried and tested and have been enjoyed by all! So, I hope you and your family will enjoy as well!

For a hobby, I am into photography and so is DH but he's been taking pics much longer than I have and he's more into landscapes and portraits. I started off with taking portraits (got into it soon after DD was born). After moving to Norway, I got into landscapes.. and birds!

Here are some pics taken of our little feathered friends that visit us every winter!

After seeing all the fabulous pictures posted here on Zaar, I got into food photography. So I am still a beginner and trying to pick up all the various techniques from DH and most of all, from here on Zaar!

Favorite Foods:

DETEST offal (they are awful! love saying that!!), cauliflower, goats' cheese, stilton cheese (or any bleu cheese), not too keen on sushi either, not a big fan of red meat. Don't like cooked raisins and have recently gone off the taste for leeks, broccoli and brussels sprout..

Thai is #1 favourite, followed by indian, chinese and italian and not to forget middle eastern.. LOVE aubergines, okras and anything to do with potatoes!

Tell you what I do miss here though.. Burger King Fries!!!!!!!!!

A BIG THANK YOU to ALL for trying out my recipes, I really do appreciate it.
