I've recently returned to the USA after a few years living abroad in London, England. I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but I have travelled around quite a bit - and I have lived in many wonderful places. However, for now, I am very happy to be home.
Well, finally I'm back in the land of my birth, the country of EZ Cheese, deep-fried Coca Cola and big portions. I had an attack of sticker shock on my last trip to the grocery store, so my cooking of elaborate and fanciful meals will have to occur a little less frequently!
I am a vegetarian who occasionally indulges in sushi and seafood, so the majority of my recipes reflect my preferences. I always try to offer substitutions in my recipes that can be made for my carnivorous friends.
I believe that vegetarians can make just about ANY meat dish under the sun by making smart substitutions of vegetarian "mock" meats, tofu, or vegetables. If a dish calls for meat or poultry, I NEVER let that stop me. I can make just about ANYTHING vegetarian...and taste just as good, if not BETTER, than the real thing.

My favorite cuisines are Indian, Thai, Mexican, Lebanese/Greek, Japanese and Italian.
I love to nosh on all the fattening stuff: risotto, fondues, cheesecakes, tiramisu, cheese, rice pudding, curries and anything blueberry!
I HATE MAYONNAISE. I also really detest eggs and canned baked beans.
