about me

I live in Toronto, but there's a special place where I love to spend the summer. It's in Prince Edward County, about a three hour drive east of the city. I have a summer cottage which used to be my parents'. It's very secluded with no electricity, phone or running water. So making great meals is a challenge - I make extensive use of the cooler, barbecue and camp stove. But the food always tastes great in the outdoor setting. I was going to call myself The Naked Chef due to my fondness for going around nude when I'm there alone, but that name is taken. The Cottage Chef is also taken, so I call myself The Cottage Cook since I do the cooking for family and friends. And don't worry, if I post any pictures or video of myself, I'll be fully clothed!

Favorite Foods:

I'm mostly a meat and potatoes guy. But there are some veggies I like. Green and yellow beans, carrots, peas. I also like most kinds of salad but wouldn't thank you for a coleslaw. However, I just love European style cabbage rolls with sour cream.

Several years ago, I saved up for a long weekend trip to New York City. Over three evenings I ate at three restaurants - Christ Cella (steakhouse), Lutèce (French) and Czech Praha. To this day, they are still the three best restaurants I've ever been to.
