Cooking in New Orleans

I'm a southern girl who loves to cook and I, especially, like to try new recipes. I have lived in New Orleans since I was two, so I have a lot to live up to with regard to flavorful foods. I am a newlywed and my husband greatly appreciates my new hobby of searching for recipes on Recipezaar.

Favorite Foods:

Being from New Orleans, I love all types of foods. However, my favorite cuisine is actually Chinese food!

The Crockpot/slowcooker was a wonderful invention! I have found so many delicious slowcooker meals. It's GREAT to put everything in the crockpot in the morning and have it ready that evening, after work.

One of my best dishes, as per my husband, is my "New Orleans style" red beans and rice. However, as I try more new and exciting recipes from Recipezaar, "my best dish" changes by the week.
